Lloyd Colbourne introduced Newfoundland Outdoors in 1979 on CBC TV. The series ran in prime time until 1995 making Newfoundland Outdoors one of the longest running, locally produced television productions in Canada. Written, directed, produced and hosted by Lloyd, Newfoundland Outdoors was the first independent film series to be produced in Newfoundland for television outside of the CBC through the Colbourne Production studios in St. John's.
His narrative and camara captured the Newfoundland he loves and cares for so much. Lloyd's films show the magnificant scenery of Newfoundland from the rugged beauty of our coastal outports and our way of life to the extraordinary opportunities we enjoy in our hunting and fishing heritage.
